I have never been one to pamper myself with getting my nails done at a bi-weekly basis or go to the salon for a hair treatment so when I was offered the opportunity to work with Drybar and the Grand Opening weekend of their new location in Birmingham (137 W. Maple in Birmingham) I was excited to dive into the world of self-pampering.
When I arrived at the new location I was blown away by how gorgeous the salon was! Walking into this salon was like a dream! The fresh white walls with mirrors for days and of course the signature pop of yellow sprinkled around the salon; I knew I was in for a treat.
But before I arrived I had a question; what do I expect going into an appointment at Drybar?
After my amazing experience, I can now finally help those in need out with answering that question.
Being greeted by gorgeous women into a beautiful storefront was more than a friendly experience. They make you feel like you are one of their besties coming over for a girls night, offering you drinks and playing the best chick flicks on all the tvs.
Once you are seating into your chair and you have met your consultant you get to choose from the menu which style will suit your fancy for the day. For this trip I chose a Mai-Tai, which is a style that is more beachy and relaxed.
Once you have picked your hair style you are then brought into the back for a shampoo and condition treatment which comes with a nice head massage (which I was pleasantly surprised by). The whole time in the salon you and your stylist are chatting away about anything and everything and it really feels like a girls night.
Depending on the style you choose your stylist will then blow dry and and make your hair look like a million dollars (which I tried to recreate at home but it never turns out the same). I really enjoyed being pampered and taking an hour of my day to relax and let someone take the reins of my hair.
She used many products that smelt delicious and I definitely will be shopping their collection when I am looking into updating my hair product stash.
Once the whole experience is over and you have hair that is worthy of the front of a magazine you are set for the day and wherever it takes you!
Overall, I think if you cannot be bothered to do your hair or have an important event that you want your hair looking marvelous then I would suggest going to Drybar and pampering yourself with a treatment. If you decide this is the pamper session for you then they offer Memberships (yes it gets better!). The Barfly membership costs $80/month and includes 2 blowouts per month, 10% off product instore and a free birthday blowout. Details here: https://www.thedrybar.com/membership/.
