I made a new year new me post at the beginning of January and I am still working everyday on the goals I set for myself to accomplish this year. If you haven't read that post, what I am going to talk about in a second wont truly make sense (Click here to read it!).
This month I have been working on being the better person that I strive to be and resulting from that is an actual growth in happiness. I have been working on all the relationships I have, making them cherished and unique to each situation but overall I feel like I am becoming a better person.
This has now taught me that sticking to what you actually want in life will in turn make you feel more happiness.
We do not make resolutions to set ourselves up to fail; we do them because in that moment when we sit back and think what do I actually want in life that is what is most important for you to grown in.
We all may have goals that are common or typical for a New Years Resolution but who cares; this is what you want! You need to make this year about growing for you, not for others or because someone told you to change; you need to do this because you want to.
This brings me to the whole topic of; why sticking to your resolutions can make you a better person this shows us that we have the ability to set goals for ourself (big or small) and actually accomplish them! Once you do that you will realize how in control of your life you are and how you can determine what your future will be.
Don't just set yourself goals that you are half hearted towards, do something you feel passionate towards. If you haven't created goals for this year or have already gave up on them maybe take a second to evalutate what you actually want.
I hope you all have goals you feel passionate towards
